How to do title search using OnLand
If you were not one of our previous clients, please see a guide below:
To check if you still own land using OnLand.ca, follow these steps:
Visit the OnLand website at https://www.onland.ca
In the search bar, enter the Land Registry Office (LRO) number or name for the area where your property is located.
Select "Property" from the "Find your land registry service" options.
Choose the "Address" search option.
Enter the address details of the property you want to check.
In the "Requested By" field, enter your name or the name of the person on whose behalf you are searching.
Click "Search" to view the results.
From the search results, select the "Buy Parcel Register" button next to your property.
Choose the Parcel Register and Purchase options, then select "Add to Cart".
Proceed to checkout and complete the purchase. You may need to create an account or continue as a guest user.
Once you've completed the purchase, review the Parcel Register. This document will show the current ownership information for the property.
If your name is listed as the current owner on the Parcel Register, you still own the land. If another name is listed, the property may have been transferred to someone else.
Note that there is a fee associated with purchasing the Parcel Register, typically ranging from $30-$40. If you're unsure about using the online system, you can also visit your local registry office for assistance, though they will charge the same fee for providing the information.
